My Fall Manicure

Some will call it gothic, but I call it beautiful.  It's no secret to anyone who knows me that I love dark nail polish.  Although I seem like a girly girl, I like to keep my manicure away from the nude or pink colors.  There's barely a time when I'll choose a light color over a dark one, unless it is spring time.

My favorite brand of nail lacquer is OPI.  I love the way it just covers the nail in just one stroke.  It really is amazing how much better OPI covers than the cheap drugstore brand.  I always spring for OPI because it doesn't crack or chip easily.  Usually at Ulta Beauty Store you can snag a deal on OPI, buy 2 get 1 free.

I always opt for the at-home manicure, mainly because I think it is a waste of money to pay someone what I can easily do on my own.  You need the essential tools, like a cuticle clipper and some base coat and top coat, and you're ready to go!

The colors that I love right now are:  Eiffel for This Color (a wine shimmer) and Midnight in Moscow (charcoal with maroon glimmer).

I just love how the sun hits these colors on your nails and give you that unexpected shimmer.

Five Current Obsessions

1.  Cheap Mid-Week Flights from Augusta to Rochester on Delta.
I haven't been home to NY since early June and I miss it!  I am headed home next week all thanks to cheap mid-week flights on Delta airlines.  I am flying right out of Augusta, connecting in Atlanta, and then off to Rochester!  Without $190 round trip flight, I don't think I'd be taking this last minute trip!  Sometimes the airlines can be wallet friendly, who knew?

2.  Custom Brewcrafter's Autumn Festival of Ales
I love Custom Brewcrafter's beer from where I grew up, Honeoye Falls, NY!  It's such a fun place!  Every fall they host a festival right in town honoring all of the local breweries in Rochester, inviting them to come and serve their beer.  There is food, music, and most obviously, BEER!  I will be home while the festival is going on, and I cannot wait to be outside in the crisp air, drinking with longtime friends!  I cannot wait to try the Oktoberfest Lager!

3.  Marc by Marc Jacobs Petal to the Metal Natasha shoulder bag
This bag has been on my radar since last winter.  I am obsessed with it, but it is a little bit too rich for my blood while I am currently unemployed.  I absolutely LOVE this new color, Russet.  It's so perfect for fall!  I just love all Marc Jacobs bags because the leather is so soft, it's just like butter.  I think the sparrows are just a cute touch that shows a little bit of an edgier side, similar to a sparrow tattoo.  This is definitely on my wish list for someone who really loves me and wants to give me an awesome gift!

4.  Fall Weather
One thing I miss about living in Upstate New York is the changing of the seasons.  Fall is one of the most wonderful times of the year in New England, and I have to say, it's probably because of the changing colors of the leaves and the cooler weather!  I love being wrapped up in a sweater, trendy scarf, some jeans, and boots!

5.  The Luxury of Reading
For the past 3 years I was forced to read everything under the sun in law school.  Thousands of pages of textbooks and cases, along with many current cases at the District Attorney's office.  Even this past summer I didn't get to choose what I wanted to read, as I was busy studying even more law for the bar exam.  Finally though, I can read the books that I want to read, without anyone telling me otherwise!  For graduation, my sister and her husband were kind enough to buy me a Nook from Barnes and Noble.  I am obsessed!  I can download books in seconds, and it's so easy to read.  I don't miss the paperback at all!  As my Nook cover states:  "Literature is a luxury; fiction is a necessity." - G.K. Chesterton

Coming Out of Bev Cart Retirement

I'm super excited to announce that next week I will come out of retirement!  I'll be the beverage cart girl for the Augusta Bar's golf tournament.  It's been a while since I've done this job, roughly 3 years, but I did work at my local country club in Mendon, NY as a bev cart/pro shop girl extraordinaire for my whole college career.  It was such a fun job, schmoozing with the members and being outside and enjoying the weather!  The best part of this gig is that I'll get to meet many attorneys in the Augusta legal community.  Not to mention, that I get to pick out a new, inexpensive outfit, which will make me look like a million bucks for first impressions!

I picked out these new shorts.  They are a little bit longer in length, but still good for the hot weather and still appropriate for the golf course.  I think that I'll pair it would a cute tank.  It should be a fun tournament and I am super excited to meet many new people!

To Die For

Gigi, $60
Sam Edelman may be one of my favorite shoe brands.  I am obsessed with his styles lately!  I've picked out a bunch of his shoes that I'd love to own, once I get a job!  All of the styles are from piperlime, one of my all time favorite online shops.  I bought his Gigi sandals for summer and they are the best t-strap sandals I've ever owned.  I even got my sister to get a pair!  If you research a little bit, you could probably find some of these on sale.

Alvin, $150
These are some of the shoes I'd like to get once I have a pay check.  The loafers would be so cute with some skinny jeans or skinny dark cords for fall.  I'd probably add a cute chiffon shirt with a long necklace as well.  Who doesn't love some animal print?  The closed toe flat is perfect for the cooler nights that are quickly approaching.
